Mike G Deal Crypto Scammers Get 11 Years in Prison – $45 Million Stolen, Justice Finally Delivered
Mike G Deal Scammers Get 11 Years — $45 Million Stolen from Victims in Crypto Fantasy Scheme
Two men behind the “Mike G Deal” — a brazen $45 million crypto investment fraud — have been sentenced to federal prison. Neil Suresh Chandran got 11 years. Bryan Lee got 3 years. The message is finally clear: if you run an MLM-style crypto Ponzi scheme, you WILL go to jail.
On July 9th, 2026, a US District Court Judge handed down the sentences that victims of the Mike G Deal have been waiting years for. Chandran, the mastermind behind the scenes of this elaborate fraud, will spend over a decade behind bars. Lee will serve three years. Between them, they’ve been ordered to forfeit nearly $40 million — though whether victims will ever see that money is another question entirely.
The Scheme: A $45 Million Fantasy
The “Mike G Deal” was never a real investment opportunity. It was a fictional crypto project called “CoinDeal” — a name that sounds like it was designed to trick people who barely understood what cryptocurrency was. Michael Glaspie, aka “Mike G,” played the frontman, stringing investors along with never-ending promises and excuses for why their money wasn’t producing returns.
Behind the scenes, Chandran and Lee were working the narratives and laundering the money. They took in approximately $45 MILLION from consumers who believed they were investing in legitimate crypto projects. In reality, the money was being siphoned off, shuffled around, and spent.
The Sentences: Finally, Justice
Here’s what the court ordered:
- Neil Suresh Chandran: 136 months (11 years, 4 months) in federal prison
- Bryan Lee: 36 months (3 years) in federal prison
- Chandran’s forfeiture: $34.8 million
- Lee’s forfeiture: $4.1 million
- Both jointly liable for: $21.7 million in restitution to victims
- Both subject to: 3 years of supervised release after prison
Michael Glaspie, now 75, was sentenced to 6 years back in 2023 after pleading guilty to wire fraud. So the entire leadership of this scheme is now behind bars or heading there.
But Will Victims Get Their Money Back?
Let’s be realistic. Chandran was ordered to forfeit $34.8 million and Lee $4.1 million. They’re jointly liable for $21.7 million in restitution. But if history tells us anything about MLM and Ponzi scheme recoveries, MOST VICTIMS WILL NEVER SEE A PENNY. The money has long since been spent, laundered, or hidden. Forfeiture judgments are easy to write on paper — collecting them is another matter entirely.
The SEC also filed parallel civil fraud charges against the Mike G Deal operators back in 2023. That case was put on hold while the criminal proceedings played out. Now that the criminal cases are resolved, the SEC’s civil case will reopen. That could mean additional financial penalties — but again, collecting from convicted fraudsters is a long shot.
What This Means for the MLM Industry
This sentencing sends a powerful message. The DOJ and SEC worked together to take down this operation — and they got convictions and prison time for all three principals. If you’re running an MLM or crypto scheme that’s actually just a pyramid scheme dressed up in blockchain jargon, take note: the authorities are watching, and they’re prosecuting.
Chandran’s 11-year sentence is particularly significant. It’s one of the longest sentences we’ve seen for an MLM-related fraud in recent years. This wasn’t a slap on the wrist or a fine that gets written off as a cost of doing business. This is real prison time.
What You Should Do
If you or someone you know lost money in the Mike G Deal / CoinDeal scheme, you should:
- Contact the FBI or the SEC if you haven’t already filed a complaint
- Monitor the SEC’s civil case — register for updates on the SEC website
- Consult with a securities fraud attorney about your options for recovery
- NEVER INVEST IN CRYPTO PROJECTS PROMOTED BY MLM COMPANIES. If it sounds too good to be true, it IS.
And if you’re thinking about joining an MLM or “crypto investment opportunity” that promises passive income through recruitment — DON’T. The vast majority of people who join MLMs make zero profit. The only people who get rich are the ones at the very top, and they’re usually the ones going to prison.
